Reconstruction of Housing Units
On 27.06.98 a serious earthquake occurred in the south-east part of Turkey, measuring 6.3 on the Richter scale, it caused widespread destruction in the provincial capital of Adana and the nearby town of Ceyhan, especially to numerous apartment blocks in both towns.
By 10.09.98 the World Bank had agreed to provide the Government of Turkey with a loan to the amount of € 339 million for the “Turkey Emergency Flood and Earthquake Recovery” (TEFER) project.
Within the scope of this TEFER project DORSCH CONSULT – as lead firm in joint venture with a local partner - was retained to provide consultants´ services for the supervision of the construction of some 1,000 apartment units in the town of Ceyhan (construction contract packages CH1 and CH2) including the associated municipal infrastructure.
