Nuremberg – Munich track improvement Section 3
The Ingolstadt – Munich track is the southernmost part of an improvement (new construction and extension) for the Nuremberg – Munich line, which is part of the Hamburg – Hanover – Würzburg – Nuremberg – Munich – Italy North-South connection.
A double-tracked extension with an increase of the maximum speed from 160 km/h to 190 km/h is projected. The 9 km long track section includes a railway station with two passing tracks.
