National Airport System Plan
Aviation is the most reliable mode of public transport in Ghana, serving both urban and rural populations in the country. To strengthen the aviation sector, a 'National Airport System Plan' is required, which provides a strategic approach to the planning and development of airports and related facilities. Its main objectives are:
- Consideration of land use and environmental issues with a focus on Ghana's aviation law.
- Inform decision-making on airport development in Ghana in terms of scale, type, location and timing of implementation
- Providing a planning framework for policy makers and other stakeholders in the aviation sector
- Preparation of future demand market forecasts and scenario analysis
- Advising asset managers and investors on the necessary factual developments
- Strategic execution including institutional or regulatory enabling measures
