Extension of the Tiékélinso North Perimeter in the San-Ouest Plain
The project was part of the MLI/021 sectoral programme, which aimed to diversify and sustainably strengthen agricultural income sources and household food security in rural areas. Specifically, it focused on developing and intensifying the productivity, sustainability, and profitability of three key agricultural sectors: rice, fonio, and sesame.
The programme aimed to achieve four main results: developing the emerging sesame and fonio sectors, improving food security for rural households through rice sector development, adapting agricultural sectors and intervention areas to climate change, and enhancing the investment and working environment for entrepreneurs. Additionally, it sought to support and strengthen local actors and government institutions at both national and local levels, including regions, circles, and communes.
