International Airport
DORSCH CONSULT led a consortium of German consulting firms which was awarded the contract for the design and construction supervision of this new international airport.
The project involved the provision of the following airside facilities:
- reinforcement and extension of runway
- new taxiway system
- new apron
- new NAVAID system
- lighting system
- internal road system
- fire station
and the following landside facilities:
- access road and car park
- passenger terminal building
- cargo terminal building
- control tower
- energy supply and generating system
- water supply
- drainage and sewerage system
- workshop
These facilities were designed to increase the airport ́s capacity to an initial 400 000 passengers and 7 000 tons of air cargo per annum, with the possible extension to an ultimate capacity of 5 million passen- gers and 100 000 tons of cargo per annum.
